Interested in working as an Italian language assistant in schools? Wish to gain valuable experience in the classroom? The Dante Alighieri Society of Canberra is looking for more language assistants to support teachers in schools!
The role of the language assistant is to work alongside a classroom teacher to enhance Italian language acquisition opportunities for students. The candidates will assist the teacher in the planning, preparation, and delivery of the school’s Italian language programme. The assistant is not expected to be responsible for the class as the teacher will always be present.
The candidates must be highly proficient in Italian, either mother tongue speakers or having obtained a certified level C1 qualification. Candidates must also have a WWVP card (working with vulnerable people).
The Dante is also looking to hire a Bookkeeper/Accounts Manager! Prior experience and/or demonstrated ability in the following is required:
- Bank Reconciliations.
- Preparation of BAS/IAS.
- Preparation of Monthly Reports to the DAS Board.
- Superannuation Reconciliation.
- Experience with Quickbooks or equivalent.
- Ability to manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Preparation of end of year accounts.
- Liaison with DAS Treasurer.
The successful applicant would need to be available – depending on their experience and capacity – for approximately one day per week, and perhaps more in the initial period of engagement to familiarise themselves with the systems and corporate culture.
Please send us an email via firstname.lastname@example.org if you feel either of these positions are for you!
