The society supports quality improvement in the teaching of Italian in participating schools with specialist mother-tongue teaching assistants. The program is assisted financially by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
Interested in working as an Italian language assistant in schools? Wish to gain valuable experience in the classroom? The Dante Alighieri Society of Canberra is regularly looking for more teaching assistants to work in schools!
Teaching assistant work alongside a classroom teacher to enhance Italian language acquisition opportunities for students. They also assist teachers with the planning, preparation and delivery of the school’s Italian language programme.
Candidates must be highly proficient in Italian, either mother tongue speakers or having obtained a certified level C1 qualification. Candidates must also have a WWVP card (working with vulnerable people).
