Terms and Conditions of Enrolment – 2025

Refunds:

Refunds are available if a student withdraws prior to the first day of term, minus a 20% administration fee. Alternatively, a Credit Note for the full amount is available, to be used in the next term.

No refunds will be issued for missed classes or public holidays.

No refunds will be issued after the term commences except in special circumstances. If these circumstances are met, in the first three weeks of term, the refund will be minus the 20% administration fee. Alternatively, a Credit Note minus 20% may apply for use in the next term.

Students who have attended three or more classes and are then unable to complete the rest of the course due to special circumstances, will be offered a 50% refund or a Credit Note for 50% of the fees paid.

Special circumstances may include:

  1. Students who haven’t attended any classes due to sudden illness and are unable to defer their attendance;
  2. Students whose family circumstances have changed (eg sudden illness of a close family member), preventing the student from attending classes or accepting an offer of deferment;
  3. Students who are required to move interstate or overseas for work or study and/or have unexpected work commitments and are unable to accept an offer of deferment.

A Credit Note is considered a deferment of the course and is only offered in the first three weeks of term. Once a Credit Note is issued, it cannot be exchanged for a refund and must be used for the next term only, after which time, it is no longer valid.

Note: DASC may consider deferment within the school year, depending on individual circumstances. Please contact the DASC office in this situation. The deferment must be accepted. A second deferment is not available.

CHANGE OF CLASS:

If a student has concerns with the level of the class they are in, please discuss these with the DASC office prior to the third week of term. DASC will try to accommodate a change in class (day, time, level) based on class availability. No more than one change will be given per term.

MISSED CLASSES:

DASC does not offer make-up classes. If a student cannot attend their class in a given week, please contact the DASC office prior to that week. The office will try to arrange for the student to attend another class at the same level during that week. This will depend on class size and availability and may not be possible.

CANCELLED CLASSES:

Before the new term starts, DASC reserves the right to cancel any class that does not reach the minimum number of enrolments. In the event of a class being cancelled before the term starts, students will be offered a transfer to another similar class. Alternatively, a full refund or Credit Note can be issued.

CANCELLED CLASSES DURING TERM:

DASC reserves the right to cancel a class due to emergency or unexpected events. In these circumstances, classes will be rescheduled based on the teacher’s availability. If a class can’t be rescheduled, no refunds will be issued, however, a Credit Note may be offered to be used in the next term.

ACT PUBLIC HOLIDAYS:

The school will be closed on ACT public holidays and no classes will be held. In these circumstances, DASC will try to organise a make-up class, at a later date, based on the teacher availability.
