Dantedì: Let’s declare our love for Italy!

On the 25th March we are celebrating ‘Dantedì’, a day dedicated to Dante Alighieri and his work.
Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus outbreak, we cannot move forward with the event that was previously scheduled to happen at the Multicultural Center, however, the Società Dante Alighieri in Rome is planning a flashmob, where everyone is invited to read the passage written below from ‘The Divine Comedy’ and post it on social media with the hashtags #stoacasacondante #ioamolacultura #WeAreItaly.

Amor, ch’al cor gentil ratto s’apprende,
prese costui de la bella persona
che mi fu tolta; e ‘l modo ancor m’offende.
Amor, ch’a nullo amato amar perdona,
mi prese del costui piacer sì forte,
che, come vedi, ancor non m’abbandona.
[Dante Alighieri, Divina Commedia, Inf., V canto]

The event is scheduled to happen on Wednesday 25/03 at 6pm (Italian time, which would be Thu 26/03 at 4am in Australia).
